Battle Buddy
For World of Warcraft: Forever · free beta

Back after twenty years? Pick up where you left off.

Battle Buddy Not a shortcut. A way back.

You remember the music in Elwynn Forest and the run to Ironforge. You don't remember which trainer teaches Journeyman Tailoring, or what your Warlock was saving that Linen for. Between work, family and everything else, when you get an evening to play, you don't want to spend it looking up quests and locations.

Battle Buddy keeps track of your characters and the game, so when you log in you know where you left off and what's worth doing next. We won't walk the path for you. We'll make sure you can always find your way back to it.

Everything is free during the beta. Already in? Sign in.

Battle Buddy is made only for World of Warcraft: Forever. It isn't built for retail WoW or the other Classic versions.

Asking Buddy
What should Raven craft next? I want Tailoring to 300 eventually.
Reading Raven's profession route and bags…
Raven's at 43 Tailoring with 40 Linen Cloth in the bags, enough for the next stretch:
  • Linen Belt ×22 takes you to 62
  • Then learn Bolt of Woolen Cloth at your trainer
Want me to remember "Tailoring to 300 on Raven" as a goal?

Make the most of that one hour you have after the kids go to bed

Three parts, one planner. The addon does the work in game and is free for everyone. The desktop app reads what the addon saves, so it sees every alt at once. Buddy builds on both: ask the way, then go play.

The addon

In game · free
  • Profession routes: what to craft at each skill, with the materials
  • Trainer tours with an arrow to each trainer
  • A quest-log style tracker that ticks steps off as you go
  • Spell rank checker: swaps old ranks on your bars
  • Ready-made class macros, one click to your bar, with a heads-up when a new one unlocks

The desktop app

Windows · free
  • Every character's gear, bags, bank, professions and gold in one place
  • Runs quietly in the tray and updates itself
  • Optionally shares anonymous game facts (where trainers and vendors are) to make the routes better for everyone

Buddy

In the app · free during the beta
  • Gear upgrades for each character: compares what they wear with everything their class can use at their level, and tells you where to get it
  • Where to level next: the best zones and dungeons for your level and faction, and the quests worth taking there
  • Profession next steps, and what each alt should do this week, one click each
  • Where to train: the nearest trainer for any profession, sent to the game as a waypoint in one click
  • Remembers your goals, kept on your PC, and you choose what it saves
  • Notices when you reach a goal from what the addon saves coming

What Buddy knows

Buddy answers from game data, not guesswork. Alongside your own characters, it can look up:

15,000+items, with stats and where each comes from: drops and their chances, quest rewards, vendors, crafting, chests and gathering nodes
4,000+quests, with who starts and ends them, objectives, rewards, and the quest chains they belong to
Everyclassic dungeon and raid: level range, where the entrance is, the bosses and their best loot
Everyzone's quest and mob levels for each faction, plus each class's gear rules, so it won't suggest a shield to a hunter

Gear

  • "What are Stewart's best upgrades right now?"
  • "Where does Cruel Barb drop, and can my hunter use it?"
  • "Do any of my alts already have something better for this slot?"

Leveling and quests

  • "Where should Raven level next?"
  • "Which Westfall quests are worth doing at 14?"
  • "What's the next step in The Defias Brotherhood?"

Dungeons and professions

  • "Which dungeons fit level 22, and what drops there for a mage?"
  • "What should Raven craft next for Tailoring?"
  • "Where can I farm Linen Cloth?"

How Buddy works

Buddy is built to give answers you can trust about your own characters, and nothing else.

It already knows your characters

Buddy looks up your gear, bags, bank, professions and routes from what the addon saved, so you never have to paste anything in.

Facts from data, not guesses

Ask the way, then go play. Buddy only names items, quests, places and numbers that come from Battle Buddy's data: classic game data, which WoW Forever starts from, with Forever's own item names and levels. Drop chances are approximate, and Buddy says when Forever may differ. If it isn't sure, it says so, and that gap goes on our list to build next. Buddy uses an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to read that data and write its answers; it never plays, automates or touches your game.

World of Warcraft only

Buddy sticks to the game. Off-topic requests get a polite no, and it never gives in-combat rotations or anything that breaks Blizzard's rules.

Your data stays yours

Your goals and notes stay on your PC, encrypted. A question sends only what it needs, and we don't keep your questions or Buddy's answers. Details are in the privacy policy.
